Pride and Prejudice - Chapter 21

 

In this chapter, Mr. and Mrs. Gardiner rush home when they hear that Lydia has run away. Elizabeth and Jane are happily reunited. Mrs. Bennet is upset and blames everyone but herself for Lydia's actions. They talk about Lydia's escape and read her reckless letter saying she ran away with Wickham. This part of the story is filled with anxiety and frustration as the family deals with Lydia's actions and the problems they create.
