In this chapter, Mr. Bennet reflects on his financial decisions and the lack of a son to carry on the family legacy. This led to concerns about providing for his five daughters and wives. He hoped he could save the money for future use. The focus then shifts to Lydia's impending marriage to Mr. Wickham. Mr. Gardiner Elizabeth's Uncle Propose a financial settlement for the marriage. which Mr. Bennet accepts. However, Mr. Bennet is annoyed by Lydia's behavior and refuses to wear her wedding dress. This causes tension in the family.
